Kamala Arts

Between 1998  – 2001 Linett Kamala set up one and ran of the London’s first spray can art companies ‘Kamala Arts’ whose mission was to bring art, education and the community together’.   Over the years it engaged hundreds of young people aged 5 – 18 in visual arts workshops, external murals and environmental projects which they co-created with professional graffiti artists, some of whom went on to set up their own successful practice.

Highlights included working with the architectural firm Richard Rogers Partnership and winning the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) prize for their design for the regeneration of Wembley Stadium.  The young artists who took part were awarded their certificates at City Hall by the Mayor of London.
